Instructions to Collectors of Revenuo &c.

1. Collectors are cautioned against delegating their personal signatures to Subordinate Öfficers.

2. When it is not practicable for Collectors to attend pergenally to all receipts, such may in their absence be signed by a duly authorised subordinate officer signing

the Collector and a notification of such authority should pro ba conspicuously shown in the office.

3. Collectors and authorised Subordinates are advised that, before signing receipts, they should see to the accuracy of the amount stated, that such amount is duly entered in the Cash Book and that the receipt form is chopped by the shroff.

4. In cases whether the receipts are signed by a Subordinate Officer Collectors should, on the earliest opportuni- -ty, examine the amount on the counterfoils and compare them with these in the Cash Book, care being taken to note that no forms have been used other than those so entered.

5. Collectors should satisfy themselves from the Treasury recoipt that all the amounts in the Cash Book have been duly paid into Government account daily or weekly as the case may be.

Personal supervision of the supply of Audit Numbered forms is highly necessary.

6.

No receipt of any mature whatsoever must be given except on the proper Audit numbered fortis supplied by

the Treasury.
